Making waves
Floral plum and savory spice
Leaving a flavor wake

Legendary Temperance Hill Vineyard in the Eola Amity Hills is responsible for many a classic Oregon Pinot Noir.  Named after a racehorse who won the Belmont Stakes in 1980, the vineyard was originally planted in 1981. Since 1999 this nearly 100-acre vineyard has been organically farmed by our friend Dai Crisp whose attention and intention has informed a generation winegrowing.

Our 2023 Temperance Hill Pinot Noir comes from the original 1981 plantings of self-rooted ‘Pommard clone’ as well as grafted 115 clone from the upper bench.

Tasting notes:

The 2023 Temperance Hill Pinot Noir is supple and linear, focused and refined. Aromas are of plum and dried raspberry, earthy florals and savory perfumed spice like sandalwood, juniper, bergamot & orange blossom.  The wine moves like a low gradient riffle, smooth and laminar across the palate with depth and flavor in its wake. A distribution of florals and savory spice - cardamom, Thyme, marionberry, lavender, sundried tomato and resinous rosemary radiating in harmony and length.
